Step away from the noise of modern life and enter a space of deep calm with our guided Zen meditation experience inside a traditional Buddhist temple.
Held in a quiet tatami hall surrounded by centuries of history, this intimate session introduces you to the essence of Zen practice — mindfulness, breathing, posture, and presence. Whether you are completely new to meditation or already have experience, this gentle introduction is designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and reset.
Your session begins with a short explanation of Zen philosophy and temple etiquette, followed by guided seated meditation led in English (with Japanese support when available). You’ll learn proper posture, breathing techniques, and how to quiet the mind — then spend time in silent reflection within the peaceful temple grounds.
This experience is intentionally kept small and personal, creating a rare opportunity to meditate in an authentic sacred space normally inaccessible to casual visitors.
Many guests describe this as one of the most grounding and memorable moments of their Japan journey.
